Titanium Elite 2012

AJ Auld

Founder and CEO of Titanium Lacrosse AJ Auld has a proven track record of developing exceptional lacrosse players, coaching championship caliber teams and assisting with the recruiting process for lacrosse players across the United States.  

AJ is entering his seventh season as the head boys’ lacrosse coach at Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio.  He has won two Ohio state championships and been runner-up one time over the past six years.  Auld was the recipient of the 2011 Ohio Capital Conference (OCC) Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year and the 2006 Ohio High School Lacrosse Coach of the Year awards.  He has coached multiple academic and scholastic All-Americans, 1st team all-state recipients, and many student-athletes who have received scholarships to play Division 1 college lacrosse. Auld has a 10022 record as a head coach.

Prior to taking over the reins at Dublin Jerome, AJ was a varsity assistant coach at Dublin Scioto from 2003 to 2005.  Dublin Scioto's lacrosse team won the 2003 Division 1 state championship and was the Division 1 runner-up in 2004.  

Auld has been the head coach of the Under Armour Underclassmen Midwest team since its inception (2009 through 2012).  He was selected as one of twenty coaches in the United States to serve as an evaluator for the U19 National Team.  

A strong believer in volunteering to help grow the game, AJ currently serves as a board member of the safety subcommittee for US Lacrosse.  He served as the US Lacrosse central Ohio area rep from 2007 to 2011, Ohio High School Lacrosse Association (OHSLA) president from 2010 to 2011, OHSLA vice president from 2008 to 2009 and OHSLA central Ohio rep from 2006 to 2008.

Dave Ames

Dave Ames has been the first varsity assistant coach at Dublin Jerome High School since the program's inception there in 2005.  During his tenure, Dublin Jerome has won three state championships (2005, 2010, and 2011) and finished runner-up one time (2006).  Dave was the 2010 US Lacrosse Assistant Coach of the Year.  As defensive coordinator, he has sent many players to D1 college programs, had all four starting defensemen (three close, one LSM) receive 1st team all-state honors in 2011, and coached Dublin Jerome to an impressive 4.75 Goals Against Average (GAA) in 2011.  

Dave served as an assistant coach on the 2010 and 2011 Under Armour Midwest team. He was the head coach at Westerville North (2002–2004), an assistant at Chaparral (Arizona, 2000–2002) and an assistant at Arizona State University (1999–2000).  He played college lacrosse at the University of Arizona and Bentley College; and played high school lacrosse at the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts.

Tom Coons

Tom is a graduate of Nazareth College (1989) where he earned first team all-conference honors all four years, and was named the first team captain of Nazareth College Lacrosse in 1986 and through 1989. Tom has been coaching youth lacrosse since graduating from college, and was fortunate enough to coach at DeSmet High School in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1990 to 1998.  Even though it was a new program in 1990, DeSmet quickly had success, winning three Missouri State titles by 1998.

Coach Coons recently led the Carmel High School Varsity team to its first Indiana state title in 2011 as the culmination of a 14–1 season. Tom was also instrumental in starting the Carmel Dads’ Club lacrosse program in Indiana that has grown from 58 kids in 2003 to over 500 in 2009. Tom has coached the Carmel travel teams for six years, successfully achieving 117 wins and only 12 losses. His hope is to share his knowledge, and that of other qualified players and coaches, with all youth lacrosse players in the Indiana area.

Eric Genova

Eric Genova is a varsity assistant coach at Loyola Academy in Chicago, Illinois.  Prior to joining the Loyola staff, he coached D1 college lacrosse at Cornell University.  While Eric was at Cornell, the Big Red program captured back-to-back Ivy League Championships, with the 2007 team enjoying an undefeated regular season, advancing all the way to the national semifinals in the NCAA Tournament.  Eric worked with the Big Red faceoff unit, helping the team improve from 42 percent efficiency in 2006 to 61 percent in 2008, which was the third-best figure in the nation. Genova also worked with Cornell's scout team offense.

Eric also earned a tour with the U.S. national team in 2010. With Genova on staff, Team USA won the FIL World Championship, defeating Canada 1210 in Manchester, England. 

Prior to coaching at Cornell, Eric coached Division 1 college lacrosse at Bucknell University and was part of the Bison team that enjoyed an undefeated regular season Patriot League Championship.  His work with the Bucknell face-off unit helped Jake Clarke, a player who was new to facing off, reach #1 in the country statistically during that season. From 2004-06, Genova was the Head Coach at Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colorado, and the Assistant Coach there in 2003. He was nominated for Head Coach of the Year honors in 2005, and his team received the Ken Ranta CHSAA Sportsmanship and Leadership Award in 2006.

Jon Posner

Jon Posner was appointed head coach of the Culver Military Academy (CMA) lacrosse program in 2004, and proceeded to coach the team to four state championship tournaments. The team came away from two of those as the state champions. Some of his players have gone on to play at Princeton, Harvard, West Point, Stony Brook, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Hobart, the Air Force Academy, Dickinson, Gettysburg, and Middlebury, among others. One of his players also recently committed to play for Johns Hopkins, one of the most prestigious lacrosse programs in the nation.

Prior to his arrival at Culver, Jon coached for nine years in the New England Prep league. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Scranton University, where he was a four-year varsity lacrosse player. He also played lacrosse in prep school at the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

Kevin Kelley

A member of the 2000 NCAA champion team at Syracuse that was recently voted “Team of the Decade” by Inside Lacrosse, Kevin played for both the Chicago Machine and Boston Cannons professional lacrosse teams. In addition, he has coached for many successful programs including New Trier High School in Chicago, Team Illinois, Rockhurst High School, and Shawnee Mission East, where he is currently top varsity assistant coach. Kevin is also Events Director for US Lacrosse Great Plains Chapter.

Sean McGinnis

Sean McGinnis started his coaching career with his hometown youth and middle school teams in North New Jersey and has been coaching lacrosse in Central Ohio for the past eight years.  He was an assistant coach at Worthington Kilbourne from 2004 to 2008, Head Coach at New Albany High School from 2009 to 2011, and is currently the head lacrosse coach at Olentangy Orange High School.

While at New Albany, Sean guided the Eagles to the Division II state semifinals in his first year and won the OCC Capital Division conference title in his second year.  New Albany was consistently ranked in the top five of the Central Ohio Region and top 10 in the State for D2. Sean started “Sticking it to Cancer,” an annual community service event between rival high schools New Albany and Granville. This event helps raise money for The James Cancer Hospital and Breast Cancer Awareness.

Michael Kinney

Michael Kinney has been pacing the lacrosse sidelines for over 22 years as a college player and coach.  Michael played attack at Northwood University in Michigan and, upon completion, started his coaching career in Dublin, Ohio, as a middle school coach in 1994.  In 1996, Michael became the first-ever coach at Davis Middle School in Dublin. During his middle school coaching tenure, he served as the President of the Ohio Middle School Lacrosse Association (OMSLA) and as an assistant and eventually head coach for Team Ohio for the 2000 and 2001 US Lacrosse Festivals, where the teams combined record was 11–1 over two seasons.  Michael is entering his second season as head lacrosse coach for The Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio.

In 2010, Michael was selected as the US Lacrosse Man of the Year for the Ohio Chapter for his work in promoting lacrosse to the inner city students of Columbus by starting the CCS Lacrosse Club.  He coached over 80 players who went on to play college lacrosse, and another 12 who received All-American awards in high school.  Several of Michael's former players are current varsity head coaches around Columbus, Ohio, and New England.

Bob Scott

Bob Scott brings 21 years of coaching experience to Titanium Lacrosse, having coached at the youth, middle school, high school and club levels. Bob started the Dublin Scioto High School lacrosse program and served 10 years as its head coach. While there, he racked up a record of 151–49 and enjoyed great success, leading the team to 3 state championships (1997, 1999, 2003) and 3 state championship runners-up (1998, 2001, 2004) places and being named 1997 D2 Coach of the Year as well as 1998 D1 Coach of the Year.

In addition to having had many players go on to become college lacrosse players at all levels, Bob was instrumental in the establishment and growth of lacrosse in Dublin, Ohio, at the youth, middle and high school levels, helping brand Dublin as a lacrosse hotbed of talent and achievement within Ohio.

Chris Ready

Chris was an LSM/Defenseman at the University of Maryland.  He was named the recipient of the Dan Snyder Memorial Award for most improved player in 2009.  Prior to joining Maryland's lacrosse team, Chris played one season at Ohio Wesleyan.  He was a three-year letter winner at Dublin Jerome High School where he helped his team to an 18–2 record and state championship runner-up finish in 2006.

Dom Marzano

Dom Marzano will be the first-ever lacrosse coach at Wilmington College (D3), which will begin its inaugural season in the spring of 2013.  A graduate of Hilliard Davidson High School, Dom was a four-year starter at Wheeling Jesuit University. He was an assistant coach at Hilliard Davidson High from 2008 to 2009 and has been head boy's lacrosse coach at Hilliard Bradley High School since 2009. He was an assistant coach for the Ohio Wesleyan University men's team in 2011.

Jason Godwin

Jason Godwin is a graduate of Worthington Kilbourne (1996). His lacrosse career includes playing for the College of Wooster (2000) where he earned two all-conference honors as a defenseman. Jason is in his 11th year of coaching lacrosse and 4th season as head coach at Hilliard Davidson High School.  In 2009, Jason was the recipient of the OHSLA Lacrosse Coach of the Year and the US Lacrosse Ohio Chapter Coach of the Year awards.

Brett Stewart

Brett Stewart began his coaching career in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he was an Assistant Coach for W.T. Dwyer High School in 2002.  After moving back to Central Ohio, he became the assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Westerville Central High School in 2003.  The following year he returned to his alma mater, Dublin Scioto High School, as the assistant coach and defensive coordinator, where he coached from 2004 to 2009.  During that time he coached numerous all-state and all-Midwest players as well as four All-Americans.

Brett was a three-year starter and all-state recipient in high school. He was a starter of the 1997 state championship team. After graduation, Brett attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned an SELC all-star spot as a freshman. The following year he transferred to Wingate University where he was a three-year starter at LSM and defense. Brett started for Wingate when the team went to the 2001 NCAA Final Four.

Marshall Burkhart

Marshall was one of three captains and a starting midfielder for the 2012 Johns Hopkins University men's lacrosse team.  Marshall's substantial playing time during his career at Johns Hopkins has featured roles as a two-way middie and faceoff specialist.

In 2008, Marshall graduated from Dublin Jerome High School, where he played four years of varsity lacrosse.  He led his team to one state championship and one runner-up finish.  Marshall garnered all-state honors, collected 255 career ground balls and won 73 percent of his faceoffs.

Chris Brown

Chris Brown is currently the head coach at New Albany High School after serving as assistant coach in 2010–2011, helping the Eagles to an OCC championship in 2010 and the regional semi-finals in 2010 and 2011. Chris was also head coach of New Albany's Middle School squad, which finished third in the state in 2006, was state champ in 2007 and was state runner-up in 2008.  Chris brings a wide array of clinic coaching experience to Titanium, including Buckeye Summer Camp 2002, 2004, 2005; Warrior Camp 2002; Lacrosse Academy 2002, 2004; Coquitlam B.C. Lacrosse Camp 2003; Cap City lacrosse Camp 2009; and Future Eagle Lacrosse Camp 2010–2011
 
Prior to coaching, Chris played for The Ohio State University from 2002 to 2005, where he was a four-year starter and four-year varsity letterman. During his tenure there, the Buckeyes were 2003 and 2004 Conference Champions and made NCCA tournament appearances in 2003 and 2004. Chris was named the 2004 Unsung Hero Award Recipient and named to the 2004 Inside Lacrosse “Top Defensive Midfielders" list.  Before OSU, Chris played for Dublin Scioto High School when the team was the 1998 State Runner-Up in Division 1, 1999 State Champions Division 1 (ranked 34th in the nation). Chris was also a two-time All-State Midfielder and two-time All-Midwest Midfielder. 

 

Kyle Olson

Currently an assistant coach at New Albany High School in Columbus, Ohio, Kyle Olson coached for five years at Ohio Wesleyan University during the team’s three-time conference win and five-time participation in the NCAA playoffs. Kyle also coached six years at Upper Arlington High School when the team won four state championships and two Midwest regional championships.

As a player, Kyle was a four-year letter winner at Upper Arlington, where the team won three state championships and three Midwest regional championships. He was a two-year letter winner at both Syracuse and Ohio State and part of the Orange 2002 NCAA championship team and the Buckeyes 2004 Great Western Lacrosse League champion team.

Rob Schmeling

Rob Schmeling was a four year starter for the Freeport High School lacrosse team in Long Island, New York, and a captain his junior and senior years. Rob received all-county along with all-division honors and played in the North-South All Star Game. He also served as an alternate for the New York Empire State Games.

After high school, Schmeling went on to attend Ohio State University, where he earned a degree in education. While at OSU, he also played on the Buckeyes Men’s Varsity Lacrosse squad for three seasons. After college, Coach Schmeling’s passion for lacrosse transitioned from playing the game to teaching and coaching. In this capacity, he has served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Upper Arlington High School Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse program for 9 years, coach and advisor for Hilliard Youth Lacrosse Program for 5 years, head coach for the Hilliard Ohio Cup lacrosse team for 4 years and assistant coach for the 2008 Central Ohio, Team 614 U-13 National Lacrosse team. Coach Schmeling is the Head Coach at Hilliard Darby and was recently named the Head Coach for the 2012 All America National Lacrosse Classic Team Ohio.

John Horner

John Horner is a defenseman at Towson University.  He was the 2011 Ohio Defenseman of the Year, All-American, and 1st Team All-State and All-Midwest for Dublin Jerome High School.  A team captain, John led his team to back-to-back state championships (2010, 2011) and has a 4.75 Goals Against Average in 2011.

Chris Polanski

Chris Polanski was a first team all-Ohio LSM for Dublin Jerome High School in 2005 and 2006.  He was the captain both years for a D1B State Championship team in 2005 and a D1A State runners-up team in 2006.  Chris coached at Grizzell Middle School in 2007 and 2008 and the OYAA Ohio Cup team in 2009 and 2010.  He is currently an assistant coach at Dublin Jerome High School working on a degree in biology at the Ohio State University.

Leo Horine

A US Lacrosse All-American, Leo captained his team to a second consecutive state title while rounding out his high school career with 130 goals and 49 assists.  Multiple-year winner of all-state, all-Midwest and all-conference honors along with being an AP National Scholar, Leo also played for the Under Armour Midwest squad and the Titanium and Burning River Club teams before heading off to play D1 lacrosse at Quinnipiac, where he is currently studying biology and health sciences.

Andy Asmo

Andy Asmo has been the head boys’ lacrosse coach at Grizzell Middle School in Dublin, Ohio, since 2006.  During his tenure, Grizzell has had one of the most successful teams in the state of Ohio, reaching the middle school “A” bracket semi-finals and finals multiple times.  Andy has been taking middle school teams to summer tournaments for the past 8 years, winning many events and qualifying for national championship events in the process.

Bryan England

Bryan England attended Upper Arlington High School and was a member of the Lacrosse team from 1996–1998.  He was a high school All-American in 1998. Bryan graduated from Loyola University in 2003 with a major in communications. He was a member of the Loyola Greyhounds Lacrosse team from 1999 to 2002 and captained the team in 2002. In the fall of 2002 Bryan assisted the Loyola Lacrosse program as he finished up his degree. Bryan has spent seven seasons coaching in the Upper Arlington Lacrosse program, six seasons at the varsity level and one at the junior varsity. He is currently a varsity assistant at Upper Arlington.
