College Prep Counseling

A unique service offered by Titanium Lacrosse is our College Prep Counseling, which is offered to players regardless of their specific lacrosse-related goals. The counselors draw on the latest information and their years of experience working with colleges and universities to look as much at the academic side of the equation as at the athletic side in helping high-school-age lacrosse players prepare for the next stage in their lives,  While our Recruiting Guidance education will help with the navigation of the sometimes complex and confusing process involving the NCAA, our College Prep offerings take a broader look at the college-selection and entry process in an effort to take some of the mystery and stress out of this all-important decision for many young adults.

Selecting The Right College

Choosing the school that best meets a student's academic needs and personal interests is no easy task, and it doesn't necessarily get easier when you add lacrosse programs into the mix.  For anyone who might want to play lacrosse in college, there is (of course) the question of D1, D2, D3 or club lacrosse; but it's also important to think about public vs. private schools, small vs. large universities, urban vs. rural campuses, being close to home or further away, and other key questions.  While there are plenty of guides and websites that cover all these dynamics, it's hard to know which information to start with, and none of it looks at everything through a lacrosse filter. But we do at Titanium, and we can help.

Enhancing College Applications

Once a student has selected a school or short list of colleges, he needs to complete the next step: the application process.  With its specific background in education, the staff at Titanium Lacrosse can help here as well.  In addition to offering members both general sessions on college selection and customized one-on-one consultations, we can provide guidance on admissions’ best practices and guidelines as well as individualized support on applications, college essay preparation, and interviews and presentations. Our goal is to help each player put the best foot forward in his communications with admissions offices.

Optimizing the College Experience

Given the high cost of college, some students (and their parents) want to finish sooner than the typical four years.  And some lacrosse players, like other athletes, want to get a head start with their credits in order to carry a smaller course load when they are in-season.  Titanium Lacrosse has a number of tips and recommendations for doing this. Building on their exceptional background in education, Titanium's staff can give some ideas on course selection; time management; cost-reduction methods; academic focus areas; and other aspects of the overall degree-seeking process that can help members' optimize their entire college experience in multiple ways.
