The first question a college coach will ask a player is “What type of student are you?” The player's reference (club coach, high school coach, etc.) will get the same question: “What type of student is he?” Before discussing lacrosse skills, or anything related to lacrosse or college preferences, the college coach must academically qualify each potential recruit. Student-athletes need to understand the importance of focusing on their academics first and foremost, especially given that lacrosse is most prevalent at top-notch academic universities.
Players should always lean toward the best academic opportunities over good athletic opportunities. For most players, the ideal situation occurs when either the college offers an appropriate mix of academic and athletic opportunities or, even better, the player’s athletic abilities gain him admission to a university that might not otherwise have admitted him.
College lacrosse recruiting, particularly if you live outside the East Coast, can be tricky. Titanium Lacrosse has broad knowledge of the recruiting process, solid relationships with college coaches, and a proven track record of developing lacrosse players into "recruitable" Division 1 student-athletes.
In addition, Titanium coaches continue to foster their longstanding working relationships with college coaches while also working hard to build new contacts. Many of these relationships have been solidified by providing top college coaches with insight on players from the Midwest and throughout the country.
More Titanium alumni have been recruited to play Division 1 college lacrosse than alumni from any other club in the Midwest. Further, there are Titanium alumni currently playing at 9 of the Top 10 college lacrosse programs in the country.
In terms of developing student/athletes into "recruitable" lacrosse players, the Titanium coaching staff comprises many of the top high school head coaches in the Midwest region. These coaches have won dozens of high school state championships collectively (IL, IN, KS, MI, MO and OH) and have sent hundreds of players to college lacrosse programs.
